Prepare employees involved in machine vibration monitoring and diagnostics for ISO 18436-2 Level 3 certification.

Training Overview

Learning Objectives

  • Perform vibration measurements;
  • Analyze and interpret vibration measurements;
  • Recognize resonance problems;
  • Apply the balancing procedure.

Teaching Methods

Presentations may include videos, 3D animations, and a PC simulator. Experience sharing with trainees.

Targeted Skills

Successfully establish and manage a vibration monitoring program. Provide advice and recommendations for novice vibration analysts.

Assessment Methods

Multiple-choice questions (MCQ).

Trainer Profile

Technical expert trainer in the field of vibration analysis and also ISO18436-2 CAT III or CAT IV certified.

Prerequisites

ISO18436-2 CAT II certification and more than 36 months of practical experience in vibration control/monitoring are required to obtain certification.

Training Program

  • Reviews of maintenance strategies and machine monitoring techniques.
  • Data acquisition and signal processing.
  • Time domain analysis.
  • Phase analysis.
  • Natural frequencies and resonance.
  • Operational deformation during operation.
  • Experimental modal analysis.
  • Corrective actions for resonance problems.
  • Diagnosis of bearing defects, sleeve bearing defects.
  • Diagnosis of motor, pump, fan, and compressor defects.
  • Diagnosis of gear defects.
  • Acceptance tests.
  • ISO standardization and monitoring.
  • Case studies illustrated by analyzing signals from databases collected on machines.

For sessions hosted in online classrooms

Principle

  • Online training is delivered “live” by a trainer who is present at all times. Trainers have received specific training in facilitating a virtual classroom. They offer frequent interactions, exercises, and practical exchanges to encourage participant engagement and skill development.
  • The facilitator uses Classilio Via or Teams software, and group sizes are generally 6 to 8 participants.
  • The connection link to the virtual classroom will be sent to you a few days before the start of the training.

Equipment Required

  • A computer (Mac, PC) or tablet, preferably equipped with a webcam, microphone, speaker, or preferably a headset.
  • An internet connection (ADSL, fiber optic – wired recommended) allowing the use of voice and video (make sure that the web access you will be using allows video connections, including that the ports are not blocked by your server).
  • A valid email address that can be used during the session.
  • A direct phone line or mobile number so you can be reached quickly during the session in case of technical issues.
